Charlotte Starz Travel Fastpitch Softball

The Charlotte Starz 14-U TriangleThe Charlotte Starz is now in its 11th consecutive season and is one of the Carolina's most respected travel fastpitch organizations, offering competitive travel-ball programs in a number of age groups.  Unlike many community programs which have to disperse aspiring college athletes around the time they turn 14, the Starz seamlessly integrate our widely-recognized college showcase program for those players who possess the talent, desire, and work ethic that will allow them the opportunity to compete in college.  Since its beginning in the fall of 2012, our showcase program has helped players land the opportunity to play fastpitch softball at outstanding universities including:

North Carolina Elon Barton Gardner-Webb Liberty
Meredith College Avenging Angels
Wingate Winston-Salem State Virginia Tech Meredith Furman

Starz 16-U Black

Coach David Wacaster is looking forward to taking the reigns of the Starz new flagship 16-U Black team, inheriting a number of 2017 and 2018 players from our form 18-U Elite team, where he plans to add additional 2017, 2018, and talented 2019 players to form the core of our next generation of college recruits.

Although each club possesses its own unique identity, players, and missions, together they share the common vision of placing player development, character growth, and team success as their primary mission.

The Starz, began as a single 8-and-under team formed in May, 2006 by then President and organization founder Ashley Davis with a core group of young players from his highly-successful West Mecklenburg Athletic Association 9U team. To this group, they carefully blended talented players from several north Charlotte associations, including Huntersville (HYAA), Mallard Creek (MCAA), and Odell (ORSA). Their goal was to create a hard-hitting team showcasing great team speed and solid defense which would be ready to compete at championship levels in local tournaments. In only their second tournament, the original Starz 8U team took the Championship of the NSA Super One Day Madness in Statesville, North Carolina.
