Welcome to the Charlotte Starz Fast Pitch online, your complete source for information, photos, and more on one of Charlotte's premier tournament fastpitch softball organizations.

The Starz are entering their eighth consecutive year in 2013, representing one of the longest active runs for any organization in the area.  For the 2013 fall campaign, the Starz will feature Coach Luis Yepez's Starz 12-U Purple team, the 2012 NSA Class A North Carolina State Champions and 2012 Top Gun Sports Class A World Series Champions.  Coach Luis' team finished with an amazing 55-8 record, winning 11 of 14 tournaments they entered in their 10-U Gold season and look to build on their success as they make the transition to 12-U ball in the fall.

Coach Steve Foster's Starz 16-U Showcase team, built around the class of 2015,  has carefully developed plans to continue to build the Starz college showcase program, providing our athletes with a unique ways to connect with college coaches and prepare them for the opportunity to take their games to the next level.  Coach Foster's team plans to complete an balanced 14 tournament schedule in late November before tackling their most aggressive schedule ever in the summer of 2013.

Although each club possesses its own unique identity, players, and missions,  toghether  they share the vision of placing player development, character growth, and team success as their primary mission.

The Starz, began as a single 8-and-under team formed in May, 2006 by President and Director Ashley Davis with a core group of young players from his highly-successful West Mecklenburg Athletic Association 9U team. To this group, they carefully blended talented players from several north Charlotte associations, including Huntersville (HYAA), Mallard Creek (MCAA), and Odell (ORSA). Their goal was to create a hard-hitting team showcasing great team speed and solid defense which would be ready to compete at championship levels in local tournaments. In only their second tournament, the original Starz 8U team took the Championship of the NSA Super One Day Madness in Statesville, North Carolina.

The Starz are eager to add teams in all age groups and would consider either a start-up team with the right coach or an existing team looking for the advantages available through our organization, including:

• Fully qualified tax-exempt 501(c)3 corporation
• Centralized accounting and banking
• Complete documentation to protect both the coaching staffs and players
• Standardized uniform and equipment packages
• Better access to players and facilities
• State-of-the-art website, complete with player and team statistics tracking
• The opportunity to roll the ball out there and go play

Starz teams are universally known for their sound fundamental defense and aggressive, opportunistic hitting. Our practices make use of traditional and cutting-edge individual and team drills devoted to basic diamond skills and concepts. Our players learn in a fast-paced, team-first environment where we strive to give them the skills, knowledge, and awareness to take their games to the highest levels. It's a fairly common sight to see our kids playing for championships on Sunday.
